Horseback Riding Lessons & Horse Training
Offering Dressage & Jumper Lessons
Lessons can be given on your horse, or a school horse will be provided if needed. All lessons include learning all aspects of horsemanship: properly caring for the horse before and after the ride, grooming, tacking and untacking.
Lessons are offered at JoMar Farms in Midlothian TX.
Dressage - Mariam believes that dressage is the foundation of quality riding in any discipline, and is essential in the training of the horse. Therefore, much emphasis is placed on dressage no matter what discipline is ridden. Mariam has a deep foundation in dressage from growing up in Spain with exposure to classical dressage.
Jumper - Mariam uses her dressage foundation and hunter/jumper background to ensure proper technique and clean rounds over fences. This is essential, not only to win with clean technical rounds, but for the safety of both the horse and rider.
Lessons are $40 for a 30-45 minute private lesson, or 1 hour group lesson.
**Please read the section below for more information regarding the lesson program.

- All students, both minors and adults, must wear an ASTM/SEI approved riding helmet at all times while mounted during the lesson. Helmets are supplied by barn if necessary although all students are STRONGLY encouraged to purchase their own helmet.
- All students must wear a boot with a heel, closed toe, and thin sole. No tennis shoes, hiking boots, slip on shoes, strap on shoes or sandals.
- All riders must sign a Liability Release form before riding or handling a horse.
- All lessons will take place at their scheduled time unless notified by the riding instructor.
- The riding instructor must be notified of all cancellations or time re-arrangements at least the evening prior to the scheduled lesson. This excludes emergencies, which will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. If the student or student’s parent fails to do so, the student may be charged a penalty at the time of the next lesson.
*Beginning Jan 1, 2011 I will not be doing any hunter shows anymore. ONLY Dressage and Jumpers. If you take jumper lessons, you must also take dressage lessons, as it is the foundation of riding. If you wish to do hunters, I will give hunter lessons, but I will not be available to coach at hunter shows.
